07/10 St. Andrew's Youth Assist With VBS
St. Andrew's youth have helped Trent and Joyce Shealy out this year to bring to life a giant Baobab Tree, part of the main stage design for this year's Vacation Bible School. Thanks to the Shealys, all the hard-working youth, and adult volunteers for creating yet another fabulous setting for a week of summer fun, learning and fellowship.
06/10 St. Andrew's Youth Serve in Tennessee
A group of our youth traveled to Knoxville, TN, in June for a week of service to the community through an exceptional program sponsored by St. John's Lutheran Church in that city. Our youth and their new leader, Sandra Holland, had a great time, worked hard with youth from other churches, and again returned home with inspiring stories of what they saw, did and learned.
05/10 2010 WELCA Tea Party
Mothers, daughters, grandmothers and friends celebrated Spring at the annual WELCA tea party in May. This year each guest donned her favorite kitchen apron, and Pastor Trump donned an unusually festive tie, to enjoy the fellowship of women at St. Andrew's.
05/10 Operation Inasmuch 2010
On April 24 St. Andrew's participated in the state-wide church missions blitz, Operation Inasmuch. Various teams visited, fed, helped and showed love and concern for those in need throughout our community. Many thanks to everyone who baked desserts and prepared meals, donated items, hammered nails, painted walls, shared their musical gifts, and much more. "Truly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me." -- Matthew 25:40.
04/10 Easter 2010 at St. Andrew's
Children and youth decorated the Easter cross with flowers from home gardens then celebrated Easter with a festive Holy Communion service. Christ is risen! Alleluia!
03/10 Luther Leaguers Stir Up Some Smiles
Luther Leaguers (3rd-6th graders) enjoyed an afternoon of culinary instruction in February and shared their gourmet dishes with some of St. Andrew's' senior members. Everyone had a great time working together in the kitchen and creating delivery trays, but especially enjoyed the visits with the very appreciative diners!
01/10 Christmas Eve - 2009
Choirs, musicians, leaders of worship and members of the congregation together celebrate Christmas at the 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service of Holy Communion and Candlelight.
12/09 Y'ALL Christmas Party - 2009
Many thanks from all of the "young" (i.e. middle-aged) adults at St. Andrew's to Susie and Robbie Derrick for hosting this year's Y'ALL Christmas gathering. Determined to feel as young as the group's name would have you believe, this group enjoys getting together as often as possible for fun, food and fellowship.
12/09 Confirmation - 2009
Six ninth-grade youth were confirmed during the 11 a.m. worship service on October 18.  Thanks to the many supportive adults who prepared and served a delicious breakfast in honor of our confirmands!
12/09 Christmas Pageant - 2009
This year's Christmas pageant was presented as a dinner theater with proceeds going toward the purchase of a cow for needy families served by the ELCA Good Gifts Program. ELCA World Hunger offers an opportunity to purchase various farm animals that are given to the needy throughout the world. This year's presentation, Dinner at the Bethlehem Hilton, had something for everyone... our typical riveting drama and barnyard humor, the traditional nativity story, plus the chance to sing our favorite Christmas hymns. Thanks to everyone who participated, cooked, served, donated and joined in the fun.
09/09 Annual Congregational Picnic - 2009
St. Andrew's members of all ages came out to eat ballpark hotdogs and play baseball & capture the flag, enjoy the fabulous weather, talk with old friends and make new ones at this year's congregational picnic.
08/09 Vacation Bible School - 2009
Discovery Canyon adventurers of all ages turned out to enjoy Vacation Bible School at St. Andrew's in August. From Bible lessons to crafts and snacks, outdoor games and an end-of-the-week concert and dinner, there was fun and fellowship for everyone, including special VBS guests from Manantial de Vida Lutheran Church (Spring of Life) in Columbia.
08/09 Lutheridge Day Camp 2009
St. Andrew's again hosted Lutheridge Day Camp in July.  Counselors from Lutheridge led children in games, music, arts and crafts, service projects, Bible lessons and silly skits.
06/09 Luther League's Gone Fishin' Again!
The Luther League attempted to break last year's record fish intake at their annual fishing excursion at the Stoudemayer's pond in Peak. Everyone had a great time, and many thanks to the parent and grandparent hosts and master fishing-line untanglers!
04/09 Hosanna In The Highest!
St. Andrew's observed Palm Sunday with the blessing of the palms, special music from the Junior Choir and an afternoon egg hunt sponsored by the Witness & Fellowship Committee for all the children of the church.
03/09 2009 Youth Ski Trip
Lots of fresh snow and really COLD temps on Sugar Mountain greeted the St. Andrew's youth group for its annual weekend of skiing, fun and fellowship.  Thanks to all the chaperones, and a special shout-out to our only casualty, Zach, for being such a trooper!
02/09 St. Andrew's youth shine on
Youth Sunday/Souper Bowl Sunday!
A long Saturday practice and motivational doughnuts and pizza seemed to pay off as members of the St. Andrew's youth group pulled out all the stops for a successful Youth/Souper Bowl Sunday on Feb. 1.  Many thanks to the incredibly talented youth musicians for providing worship music, to Chelsea and Graham for their moving testimonials, and to all the other youth who shared their special talents and enthusiasm for their roles as active participants in the St. Andrew's community.  Thanks also to staff and volunteers who helped coordinate this annual special day for the church.
